The Cursed Medal is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. After Link has collected 30 Gratitude Crystals, a chest will appear containing this medal in Batreaux's House. Oddly enough, Batreaux himself will warn Link not to open the chest containing the Cursed Medal. When equipped, it gives Link a better chance of finding Rupees and discovering Treasures, much like the Rupee and Treasure Medals. However, keeping the Cursed Medal on his person will prevent Link from being able to use any other items in his Adventure Pouch. The only way to remove its effects is to place it in the Item Check.

However, items that do not require active use, such as Bomb Bags, Seed Satchels, Quivers, and Medals (including the Cursed Metal itself) function normally. Effectively, the medal only prevents use of Bottles and Shields.
