In Native American mythology (specifically the Pequot from the US Northeast), Chahnameed was a giant who was a gluttonous eater who had a voracious appetite. He had trouble pleasing his wife since he was always away in search of food, not to mention he was a notorious womanizer. His wife left him, but she left dozens of dolls behind in the house. These dolls would scream at him when his back is facing them. His wife eventually returned and killed Chahnameed with one of the long hairs from her head converted into a javelin. He had lived on an island off the coast from the mainland.
