- La Pop art è una delle più importanti correnti artistiche del dopoguerra. Discende direttamente dal graffiante cinismo della Pignolik Art e dalla semplicità equilibrata del Neoplasticismo, del Dadaismo e del Proibizionismo. Si sviluppa soprattutto negli USA a partire dagli anni '60, estendendo la sua influenza in tutto il mondo occidentale. Questa nuova forma d’arte popolare (da non confondersi con la Popp Art che si limita a mettere un paio di tette dentro una cornice) era in netta contrapposizione con l’eccessivo intellettualismo dell’Espressionismo astratto, in opposizione netta col Concettualismo afinalistico e in avversione concreta col Disillusionismo torpido. Insomma la Pop Art rompeva le palle a tutti.
