NZ coins and banknotes are all made at the Royal Mint in the UK and are shipped out under special security arrangements in an annual sea voyage under escort from a NZ Navy frigate. None but the boldest Somali pirates would even think of hijacking it in an attempt to bring the NZ economy to its knees.
