| - Hello, I am The avatar better known as just Avatar. I have noticed that this wiki is just about the admin tools, but I think it can become a "general admin" wiki. Thus I have a suggestion and some possible changes. There should be forums; for admins to chat and discuss their wiki, wikia in general, and dangerous vandals. There should also be some place that explains how to set up a wiki policy and offers help if they need it. How to make some basic templates(this could just be redirect to templates wiki), how to be an ideally "good" admin. I think that this wiki can help admins across wikia, old and new, if we do this. We've been a running and active wikia for over a year now, and things haven't changed very much to be honest. It has just been simple requesting to be an administrator, and testing out what administrators can do. Your suggestion would be a big change to this wiki, so I'm not sure if everyone here would support this. I for one would like to hear and wait for more opinions. But one question: Do you think people will still be able to come here to test admin tools? Because this is mainly what this wiki is for. Also, if we do go with the changes, "admintools.wikia.com" may have to change into a different name besides "admintools" because the wiki would be more than just admin tools. Again, would like to wait for other opinions on this. Thanks. — RyanCross (talk) 04:05, September 20, 2009 (UTC) The suggestion seems interesting, but, as Ryan mentioned, it does not comply with the purpose of this wiki — giving an opportunity for experienced users to test the tools, which may become impossible if such changes are made to our wiki. Also, there should be forums for admins to chat — I think that Central Wikia is a more appropriate place for such discussions, like Meta for WMF projects. 09:54, September 20, 2009 (UTC) I think it could still remain a testing site. What I have said above could all be done, just on the Forums. Such as Forum:New Admins where newer admins can request help. Forum:Admin Disucssion where admins can talk about their wikis, wikia,etc. And then there just need to be some more Project Pages like Project:An admin's guide to being a good Admin or something like that. That should be possible because the gaining adminship process is good with the checking other wikis. I think that all we need to do is start up some forums and that should really be it. * Several New forums for the purpose of helping newer admins are created along with several pages stating how to be a fair and just admin. Articles about creating policies, making templates, and dealing with vandals could also be made. This wiki may remain a test wiki, because this proposal does not limit who can be an admin ,here, or anything of that nature. Also, "testing" is part of being an admin it teaches how to use your tools properly. If anything this proposal will make the wiki more active by bringing in more users and helping other wikians. Really all we are doing is making some extra articles and forums. As for the url, it can remain the same.Please vote below under support, Oppose, or neutral.--Avatar Talk 22:00, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
