- Giant turtles are larger than average species of turtles. At least one variety of giant sea turtle is native to the southern seas. Giant sea turtles can also be found in the northern seas. Some types of giant turtles such as the dragon turtles are large tortoises.
- Giant Turtles are (as their name implies) towering turtles the live in the Jade Sea in the land of Cantha. With their shells towering higher than buildings, these turtles are one of the most distinguishing features of Luxon culture in Cantha.

This unnamed, mysterious turtle plays a minor, but invaluable role during Link's quest to prevent the destruction of Termina. Very little is known about the Giant Turtle, but during his conversation with Link and Lulu, it becomes apparent that he is probably the guardian god of the Zora in a fashion similar to Lord Jabu-Jabu's role in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

| - Known primarily as a defensive creature with its giant shell, most of the survivors of this over-sized species are more aggressive due to over-hunting for the shell, which makes an excellent boat hull when hollowed out. They appear lazy, but swim with surprising speed and can snap with their bony tooth-like ridge and powerful jaws before many opponents realize they've moved their head.
