The Olumi Osahn, or The Shadow Brotherhood, was a fanatical religious order of the Sarian culture. It arose from the misinterpretations of the Sarian teachings regarding spirituality and reverence for the elements, but took a violent twist when influenced by the extinguished Sar Bares Flir, along with several off-world sources. Their religious beliefs revered Olum, the Shadow Being, the "darkest" of the various Sarian dieties. Their main base of operations was in a series of caverns upon Phobsolin, the lone moon of Olumekar, a hostile and dangerous world in Caspia.

Their religious beliefs revered Olum, the Shadow Being, the "darkest" of the various Sarian dieties. Their main base of operations was in a series of caverns upon Phobsolin, the lone moon of Olumekar, a hostile and dangerous world in Caspia. The Olumi Osahn was primarily a volatile organization with significant funds and resources. Its reach was far-spread and its strength comparable to that of Black Sun or the Hutt cartels. Despite their criminal record, the Osahn swore oaths to defend Caspia (the star system itself) at all costs, from anyone, including the Caspian Democratic Union government. This drew the ire of the Crest, who labeled them "beyond radical patriots". This ultimately led to their downfall — despite throwing all their resources at fighting back against the Galactic Empire during the Caspian Annexation Campaign in 14 ABY, the Osahn received nothing but disdain from Thomas Mahon, who seized control of the government after ousting Elana Tracer in a military coup. Mahon feared the Osahn, as his rule would be contested by the Osahn who perceived him as a military dictator. Many of the Osahn's most prominent members were exiled from Caspar, with the organization's safehouses in such places as Noques Rasala and Anchorron seized by Union operatives.
