The 2000 Daytona 250 was a Craftsman Truck Series event held at Daytona International Speedway on February 18, 2000. It was the season opener and the inaugural series event at the track. Mike Wallace grabbed the win, holding off a rookie named Kurt Busch, making his first career event. Geoffrey Bodine was seriously injured in a scary, fiery incident that red flagged the race for an hour. After the crash, few believed Bodine was even alive, but no one could have guessed he be racing again four months later.
