The Grand Principality of Paxia is governed by a combination of a head of state, known as the Grand Prince, and an assembly of Noblemen. The Grand Prince wields almost absolute power, however if 3/4 of the Assembly of Nobles should vote against a decision, it will be vetoed. Rather than being hereditary, the title of Grand Prince is electoral. Following the death of a Grand Prince, the Assembly of Nobles chooses one from among themselves to become the next Grand Prince. | - The Grand Principality of Paxia is governed by a combination of a head of state, known as the Grand Prince, and an assembly of Noblemen. Should a Grand Prince to be weak and/or incapable of fulfilling his duties to the satisfaction of the Assembly, they wield the power to depose him through a lack of confidence vote. For the vote to succeed, every member of the assembly must vote against the current Grand Prince. Should the vote fail, the Grand Prince is then permitted to do as he will with those who voted no confidence. As such, it is extremely rare for a Grand Prince to be deposed, as many members of the Assembly will use such an occasion to eliminate rivals. However, there have been a few recorded instances in which the entire Assembly agreed in the necessity of a particular Grand Prince being deposed.
