The ritual that initiates one into the R.R. et A.C. was created by Mathers and represented with the following symbol: Image:Goldendawn adeptusminor.jpg It re-enacted the legend of Christian Rosenkreutz with a full-size tomb ( the Vault of the Adepti and a chamber decorated with elaborate artwork and furnishings painted by Moina Mathers. To take the ritual in this chamber, prospects were heavily scrutinized and allowed by invitation only. The R.R. et A.C. focused on magical theory and practice based on a curriculum designed by MacGregor Mathers. Those that completed the program were considered to have a university degree in magic and all aspects relating to mysticism.
