The Imperial Dropship Transport, or IDT for short, was a starship used by the military of the Galactic Empire to transport contingents of stormtroopers. It notably allowed to insert Imperial troops within an enemy base. The IDT shared structural similarities with the assault gunships used by the Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars, some of which had been recovered by the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
