Trinidad & Tobago international Ronnie Mauge joined Rovers in the summer of 1999 on a free transfer from Plymouth Argyle. In all, he played 50 league games for Rovers plus three substitute apperances before retiring towards the end of the 2001/02 season. All eight of his Trinidad caps came during his time at Rovers. Ronnie was eligible for Trinidad & Tobago through his parentage. He played in many games in the lead up to the 2000 Gold Cup but played just once during the tournament, the 4-0 defeat to Mexico in which he broke his leg.
