On January 26, 2010, it was announced that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers released Barry from his contract "so he can rejoin former defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin at USC, where Barry will coach linebackers." Barry was hired in 2012 by the San Diego Chargers to be their linebackers coach.
