Jimmy Whale was one of a number of Trituna warriors that were sent up to the surface (specifically the Beanson Coast Zone) by Sharka Khan. He emerged after Sonic had defeated the other members of the team, serving as their secret weapon. He and his team mates bragged about his great strength, but in the end he was defeated by a single Spin Attack from Sonic and knocked back into the water.
