Jean-Pierre Alain Jabouille (ja-BOO-ee; born 1 October 1942 in Paris, Île-de-France, France) is a French former racing driver who competed in Formula One from 1974 until 1981. Jabouille had a notable career driving for the first incarnation of the Renault team between 1977 and 1980. Jabouille competed in the first turbo charged Formula One car in 1977, Renault pioneering the move to turbo charged engines within Formula One. Jabouille remained with the Ligier team in 1982 in a managerial role, a position he held for a number of years with the team. __TOC__
