The Ring of Úri's Folk had been given to Dwári by disguised ambassadors of Sauron. Dwári who initially did not know the ring came from Sauron, passed it on to his heirs. After the feud between the Broadbeams and Firebeards forced Dwári's heir to take refuge in Khazad-dûm the ring became tied with the fate of the Longbeards. While Dwári's heirs managed to retrieve the ring from Moria its last bearer, Kúri fell while defending Dúrin's heir with his life before the gates of Nuril-lagil. The ring was believed to have been devoured by the Dragon Skell.
