| - While the lands north of the Rebic Channel were reeling from the Cataclysm, the Dwarves of the Craggonen were busy with their own problems. For years, it was known that some sort of demonic entity was active to the far south, but for the most part, it was too far away to truly worry about. For years, it was known that some sort of demonic entity was active to the far south, but for the most part, it was too far away to truly worry about. But then in Imperial Year 897, it hit home for the Dwarves. They awoke one morning to find an army of Giants camped at the base of their mountains, building siege weapons and attacking any who came near. A call to arms went up, and the Dwarves readied themselves for battle. Jarl Balin Thunderstroke, the leader of the Dwarves, led the first charge. As they tried to fight these Dwarves, the Giants hopped and jumped back and forth, avoiding the axes and hammers of the Dwarves from striking their lower legs. The storytellers came to call it the Dancing War, mocking the odd way the Giants were forced to move while battling the Dwarves. These Giants were ill-prepared and once the Dwarves had killed a handful of their leaders, they scattered across the Craggonen to pester the Dwarves in later years.
