The title first came into use in 3314 with the ceremonial acquiescence of Parliament to the Decree: Investiture of the Five Kingdoms to their Noble Kings. Like all regional kings in the Five Kingdoms of Telamon, the King of Sevescia must swear fealty to the High King of the Tela. The first King of Sevescia, David Victor III, was also Crown Prince of Telamon. Because of this, it has been custom in Telamon for the King of Sevescia to abdicate to his successor upon his ascension to the Iron Throne of Telamon in Telapolis. The title of "King of Sevescia," therefore, is generally held by the Crown Prince of Telamon.
