The Kakita's First Stance kata was one of the first exercises that a student of Kakita's style learned is this stance. This kata had very few movements, instead teaching the bushi to focus the purity of his spirit into a single, perfect cut. This basic kata was practiced daily by even advanced students, as the clarity and focus it grants was instrumental in attaining victory in the art of iaijutsu.
