When the residents of Coronation Street formed an action group and held a public meeting on the development at the Community Centre, they invited residents of the neighbouring streets along and Mr. Turner was among those who turned up. When chairman Ken Barlow opened the discussion to the floor, the mutton-chopped man was the first to speak, complaining that the rates had gone sky high and the bins had been there that long the rats were due time off. Ken quickly closed this line of discussion, telling Mr. Turner that they weren't there to talk about the rates.

However, he does recall flipping on WWF when mother wasn't there, and watching The Rock, and Stone cold going at it, as well as Shawn Michaels, and Bret Hart. He also recalls a couple of times where he watched Hulk Hogan and the nWo on Monday Nitro. Most of his knowledge comes from watching clips on YouTube. He watches the WWE, and TNA, and keeps up with a lot of Indie wrestling. He absolutely adores backyard wrestling, seeing younglings like himself live out there dream in their own backyard.

He is usually depicted as one of the most idiotic characters on the show, rivaled only by Cosmo (and even there Cosmo is considered smarter). As a running gag throughout the series, his first name has never been revealed. He is either referred to as Timmy's Dad or something such as a truck noise blocks the revealing of his actual name. Mr. Turner's arch-nemesis and next-door neighbor is Sheldon Dinkleberg. Dad is voiced by Daran Norris, who also played the live action version of him in the "Fairly Odd Movie" and also voiced Cosmo in the series.
- Mr. Turner is a character in the TV show Kickin' It. He is the new owner of the mall and Arthur's father, who gave him everything he wanted. He made new renovations to the mall, including wanting to put a parking lot where the Bobby Wasabi Martial Arts Academy was located. Rudy promised that his son would be able to make new friends at the dojo, but when Rudy refused to kick Jack out of the dojo when ordered to, Mr. Turner was going to shut the place down. He even brought in a wrecking ball to scare the Wasabi Warriors out of the dojo when they were boycotting the demolition. From that dialogue, he seemed to have not wanted to hurt the kids, but just scare them off, unlike Arthur. He seemed to be a bad parent, but in the end, he took charge at his spoiled son, grounding him for almost tear
