Joe Walker is a British film editor. He got started in the BBC’s Film Department at Ealing Studios. After cutting classical music documentaries for the BBC, Walker broke into editing drama. In 2010, Walker cut the innovative documentary-feature Life in a Day for Academy award-winning director Kevin Macdonald and producer Ridley Scott. A unique cinematic experiment, it was filmed by YouTube users around the world on a single day in July 2010 and is distilled from the 4,500 hours of footage submitted. Walker’s most notable partnership has been with artist-turned-director Steve McQueen. Walker has been a regular guest of The Watersprite Film Festival, The Disposable Film Festival] and The Luma Film Festival, as well as serving on the juries of LIFF, BAFTA and RTS.
