Area-Melee is an attack-type that allows the user to attack multiple opponents in one turn with Strength as the damage stat. If the attack is energon based, the cost of the attack is: where (default energon) is what the attack would cost for one target. If an attack is ammo-based, the cost of the attack is: So, for 1 ammo, you get 3+(1-1)*2= 3 targets. For 2 ammo, you get 3+(2-1)*2=5 targets. The most 'efficient' use of ammo is 1 ammo for 3 targets. Ammo-based Area-Melee attacks would probably need a good explanation.

Ammo-based Area-Melee attacks would probably need a good explanation. Characters with large Size do more Area-Melee damage for the same amount of Strength than small characters do. Large characters also take less melee damage when hit by Area-Melee attacks. Every character has access, via !globals, to a cruddy Area-Melee attack: Ruckus. Some characters have better Area-Melee attacks by default, and you can always upgrade into a better Area-Melee attack if it is appropriate for your character.
