Caledonia became a Province shortly after the death of Emperor Ignacius near the start of the First Millennium of the Roman Empire. Caledonia was the last area on the Isle of Britannia which was to be conquered. The Governor of Britannia wanted it to become part of Britannia but the course of History played against it. The Caledonians could not join the Senatorial Provinces because of its unfamiliarity with a Republican form of government.
