Here, she became a politician at age 13, and later was elected to mayor of Cheyenne, Wyoming on March 3rd, 1967, at the age of 14. She is known for her climactic suicide on live television. Despite not being depressed, she committed suicide at age 17 because she no longer wanted to be taken advantage of by the Wyoming government.
