We hope to gain in the area an ally we never really had and hope to trade with a rising power. * After careful consideration, King Leopold sends the request to the Bundestag, after several hours, the Bundestag accepts the alliance, and will be willing to trade with Orissa.

* Federal District Hamburg: The administrative region continues to assimilate into Bavaria. The new freedoms are greeted with positive feedback. The military expands, infrastructure is rebuilt. The weather improves greatly, the council is elected to run the new district.
* Bavarian Indonesia: Builds military and expands infrastructure. Industrialism booms in Borneo and the outlying areas. The city of Banjarmasin grows exponentially due to the continuing migration to the cities. Freedom of religion is celebrated due to the large non-Christian population.
* Bavarian Australis: Neu Munchen expands 15,000 sq km. Water Wheels make it to the colony, The Hurem Group takes to pearling and begins exporting the valuable commodity to Europe. Governor Kossack orders the expansion of the capital, Broomestadt. Forts are constructed in the wilderness. Kossack orders more forts built on the frontier. The former royal family decides to settle down. After the elections, Karl Alder is elected as new Governor, supplies are sent to Bavaria. The capital is moved from Broomestadt to Neu Munchen.
* Ethiopia expands its military, economy and infrastructure as well as those of its vassals. The colony of Msraq Qäsärä is promoted to the status of dominion as its population and economy are now sufficient enough to gain the rise in rank. It is renamed Kenya by the Emperor, and given the privilege of representing itself in the central government as well as maintaining a separate military force and government under the watch of Ethiopia proper. The Ethiopians set up a new colony at OTL Nuuk named Bärädä, and expand it by 25 km. The colonies continue to expand at normal pace. The growth of Indian culture in Ethiopia returns following news of the Indian victory. Many Ethiopians, impressed with the victory, seek to learn more about their allies, and interest in India returns to Ethiopia after one hundred years of stagnating relations and cultural interchanging.
* All the Germanic states expand their militaries. Denmark, Norway, and Sweden are not recognized as independent states and they are still classified as part of the Germanic Reich. In the meantime, Vinland and Luxembourg are regained and New Zeeland is added to Neu Prussen. Dutch Persia becomes a colony of Georgia. All vassals build their militaries. Poland and Brandenburg are united into one nation to further solidify the nation and the state idea begins to be slowly phased out as Luxembourg slowly becomes a part of Germanica proper. The UK of South Germany is recognized as a nation. The pluricontinentalism idea finally becomes accepted in the Reichstag and "Dominions", mostly independent nations, are created out of Vinland, Neu Berlin, Neu Prussen, Georgia and Armenia, Mysore, and Orientalia. This is hailed across the new Dominions and also at home in Germanica (new official name for one whole nation).
* Great Brython's military has wrapped up its war against the Netherlands. The gift of Penguin Lilies is greatly appreciated, and they begin to grow quite commonly in Ireland. The ideas of crop rotation help convince many farmers (especially after the recent food shortages) that diversification is the way to go, and all kinds of new and old plants, mostly wheat, oat, corn, potato, cabbage, lettuce, and beans, become new staples. The famine has ended, but due to effective leadership, very few people have starved. Just about every household now has an air furnace, and steam power helps produce more crops, and drive up food production, which increases population, and increases urbanization.
* The WTC oversees the expansion of De Mor Tir 3000 sq km and Tulpung yr Aber 3000 sq km for the Welsh government. The Welsh Royal Coast and Morocco grow their economies and militaries, since they are on the alert after the Malians have been fighting against them in the past three years of war. Hobyo-Somalia grow their economies and militaries. New South Wales grow their economies and militaries.
* Mali has been only sending military aid to the Dutch for the past three years and no formal declaration of war has been made. There have also been no quarrels or raids with the Welsh and proclaiming there to be is highly dangerous.

* The Apostolic Church's latest mission is to spread the Apostolic Catholic faith to the Netherlands, Chile, Argentium, and Newyd Cardyf. The old Prime Bishop passes away. The election for the position is undisputed, all candidates defer to Brother Eutychianus, the Archbishop of Ona Yagich. Church to be played by Selk'nam Player.
* There is great rejoicing in the Selk'nam Haruwin at the election of Prime Bishop Eutychianus. Brother Polycarp refuses to stand for election as Archbishop of Ona Yagich, preferring to remain as head of the Maugholdian order. In a wide open election, a surprising dark horse emerges in the form of Father John-Baptist, the ethnic Tehuelche bishop of the far Northen city of Jenjinkon Lehe. Surprisingly for a Selk'nam prelate, John-Baptist is a common priest and not a member of the Maugholdian Order.
* France: Nouvelle Bourgogne expands 3000 sq km, while La Riviere and Baie d'Eric (Erik's Bay) expand by 1700 sq km inland and Brasilea expands by 3000 sq km inland and Baie d'Notre Dame expands by 1100 sq km. School system is devastated, but the growth starts. Military is built up. The Germans are offered an alliance to avoid further conflict as the population and the kingdom is tired for such wars, with Germany or other nations.
* Lorraine: Military is built up. School system grows and the nation builds from the war.
* Carthage expands 10,000 sq km. Military is built up.
* Leptis: Military is built up and school system continues growing. The expansion starts southward of the empire by 10,000 sq km.
* Numidia: Military is built up and school system continues growing. The expansion starts southward of the empire by 10,000 sq km.

* Lakota Tribes: Expansion of Lakota agriculture continues along the Pekitanoui River and its tributaries. Irrigation remains scattered and not prevalent along the Cheyenne tributary, but in the places were it is active, it increases the amount of farm and grazing lands, increasing agriculture production and attracting more buffalo. Hunting of the buffalo continues, as many of the Lakota people now live in larger, multi-room teepees, with two to three rooms, but these rooms are relatively small. The capital town of Wiconiwico U continues to grow, with a palisade-type wall starting construction around the city. Expansion westward toward the Great Plains and the buffalo begins with the expansion of tribal territory 10,000 km westward, and ends due to the sparseness between the expanded Lakota peoples. Chief Watching Hawk decides that expansion is done for his lifetime, believing that any further expansion for him will lead to his own destruction through vanity and pride. He is 51 years old, and that is Elder status among the Lakota peoples, as few make it past 50.
* Kingdom of the Netherlands: The King continues to expand the military, focusing on the navy. Argentium colony expands 5000 km north. Chile colony expands the north coast 3000 km. Warqama expands 1000 km north. The army continue defending all positions. The royal family travels to Egypt.
* Oldeburg, Liege, Indonesia, Kongo, Dutch Persia, Cleves, West Munster, Warqama continue sending military aid. Kongo expands 10,000 sq km inland.

* Normandy: The military expands. Benin and Mogadishu expand by 10,000 sq km. The HBC expands by 5000 sq km. The Royal Council votes on an act which will vassalize Beja and Oyo. The economy expands. In other news, Frances Aquelac offers the Dutch royal family asylum in Normandy if they do not wish to remain in the now usurped Netherlands.
* The Former Royal Family is currently in Cardiff as political prisoners. On another note, the Netherlands would like to confirm our alliance with the Normans.
* Normandy had an alliance with the Netherlands, and any further renewal with the new Welsh Netherlands would take time for consideration. The Royal Council also suggests a timely pardon for the Dutch Royal Family, as exile would be more fitting for an entire family composed of many who did very little for the war effort, rather than blatant imprisonment.
* We assure the Normans that the Royal Family is receiving good treatment in Cardiff. They are living in a small palace in the outskirts of the city. They are technically in exile. They were exiled to Great Brython. We will allow all relatives leave of the exile in ten years, but the immediate family will stay in Cardiff.
* The Norman Government would like to send a formal company to serve the Dutch family as a sign of solidarity and friendship.
* You do realize that the current government of the Netherlands is the same (thus the alliance is still in place), but there is a new monarch. The offer is accepted, and the Normans will provide a valet service to the exiled Prince of Orange (his only valid title).
* The alliance was terminated when the Dutch Royal Family was displaced, and a renewal of the Norman-Dutch alliance may or may not happen in the future. The Norman Government also thanks the Welsh for accepting the offer.
* Cyprus continues to develop its army and navy. Nea Lefkosia is expanded by 3000 sq km and Nea Lemesos is expanded by 3000 sq km.
* Crete continues to expand its military.
* Cyrenaica expands 10,000 sq km into the desert.
* Kingdom of Saxony (Constituent Kingdom of the Suddeutsches Reich): In preparation for the federation between Bavaria and Saxony into the South German Empire, all of Saxony's vassals are annexed, barring Anhalt and Cologne (which remain nominally independent for dynastic reasons). Queen Charlotte enjoys much better popularity than her father did. This year's better crop and warmer temperatures ensures some improvement of the food crisis. The Queen addresses the veteran unemployment issue by setting up a fund comprised of half a year's taxes from the newly-acquired territory. The interest gained on that fund is to be distributed as yearly payments to veterans who were disabled by the war, and to the widows or children of soldiers who died and who have no other means of income. Although this allowance is small, it does placate most of the anger about veteran unemployment. In the middle of the year, the landtag approves the bill of union, officially creating the Empire of Southern Germany. Elections for Imperial Senat members will occur next year. In the colonies: Saxon West Africa expands 1000 sq km inland along the Kongolese border. The Guinea Schutzggebiet continues to recover from the effects of the war, and to assimilate newly-conquered Neu Meckenburg. Saxon Australis expands 1000 sq km along the coast toward the Welsh colony. In the vassals: Cologne joins the Suddeutches Reich as a second-class member (vassal of a member-state), and the pottery industry continues to thrive. In Anhalt, the formation of the Empire is met with outage by the growing Annist faction. Activities of the Annist Army of Our Saviour and its underground propaganda arms spike when the legitimist Prince declares that Anhalt wil also join the Empire as a second-class member.
* Prussia sends a gift of a rolled steel statue (only a small one about two stories tall, all we can make at the moment) to the Saxons, recognising Queen Charlotte's devotion to helping the veterans of the war. The statue is also a recognition of Saxony's important place in the new South German State. It portrays a Saxon soldier standing strong and proud, the inscription says (in German, of course):

* Queen Charlotte is seen as an inspiring figure in Prussia as the newspapers portray her as a reformer and saviour whose thoughts are for the families of recently lost soldiers and for those who will never march again but are soldiers none the less. Her progressive ideas begin to seep into the upper classes of Prussia...
* Italia continues working on its military after what is know known as the Ten Years War. Some food supplies are sent to Bavaria and Saxony. Urbanization continues in Southern and Western Italia at a rapid pace especially in the port cities of Naples, Palermo and Genoa. Venice begins to make a name for itself in tourism for the upper class, education and naval construction in some of the farther islands with the lagoon's sheltered and settled condition proving to be perfect for shipbuilding. Florence and a few other cities in central Italia continue to use a steam-powered form of the water wheel and develop small cottage businesses. Scientists from across Europe flock to witness the almost constant public demonstrations and experiments at the University of Venice in the field of chemistry. Meanwhile, the University of Milan and the University of Istria continue to lead in the study of human anatomy with near daily dissections much to the displeasure of the local populace. The University of Southern Tyrolia makes progress in the field of astronomy, identifying a few new stars and moons. Italia and its subject nations continue to experience a declining death rate as a result of greater understanding of how the human body works. Printing presses in the major cities churn out daily newspapers for the people reporting on various news across the Italian dominions. Aymara and Nya Gyptios expand at 10,000 sq km inland while Nuovo Brescia expands by 8500 sq km in Australia. Nuovo Venexia expands by 8500 sq km also. A young thinker in Bologna gains popularity as he starts to challenge the divine right of the King to rule over these lands. He soon gains a following amongst the masses of Bologna and travels to Venice giving speeches to the people and rallying many to his cause.
* No-one please interfere, since no-one wishes to take the Revolutionary path then I will blaze a trail of it!
* Romania, Hungary and Padang work on their economies. Yugoslavia works on its army while Greece, Siam and Malacca work on their navies.
* Prūsiskan Protektorat: After years of rising debt and disorder, the Adligenrat suddenly has a large amount of wealth, provided by the new Prūsiskan Perôni (Prussian Company, a trading company) which buys all of the current Prussian and Lithuanian factories providing much needed finance for the nations. Heinrich Corper discovers how to create sheets of steel on a large scale by using his puddling steel and his newly inventing rolling mechanism (OTL his steel sheets were used to make a variety of things including the Statue of Liberty) bolstering the Prussian economy once more. A rolling mill is commissioned by the Prūsiskan Perôni to utilise this technology as soon as possible and the secret to the technology is hidden. With money back in the Government, the Adligenrat beings to pay military wages at full again. (eco-turn)
* Bavaria's new King, husband to the marvelous Charlotte, stands behind her cause, and from is own families coffers, establlises a Veterans Hospital in Prussia, replete with all the "modern" imminities. Bavaria thanks Prussia's commitment to peace and the aid of the wounded.
* Laītawiskas Protektorat: With new wealth, Petrus begins reforming the legal structure of the nation, ensuring that children are educated by the state and using the Censors to enforce the law. He also makes a new corporate law that is admired by the Adligenrat, which encourages investment into the Protectorate.
* Myanmar: Myanmar Afrika expands by 1000 sq km. Myanmar Oceania expands by 1000 sq km. Urbanization continues using the lumber in Northern Myanmar. The tenth improved wooden sawmill is built in Northern Myanmar, with a production of 200 kg lumber daily. The tenth iron workshop is built in Southern Myanmar with 100 kg of iron made daily. The fifth air furnace is built. More rifles are built. More schools are built. Allows Bengal refugees to move into Myanmar. The army begins training vigorously. The army is trained even more vigorously and armed to the teeth.
* Apostolic Church (New Selk'nam Leadership): Prime Bishop Eutychianus is inaugurated in Avalon and in his first blessing to the people says that "Our Apostolic Church is destined to be the great religion of the Atlantic, both South and North, East and West. And one day we know that we can once again unite the peoples of Christendom under a true faith. The old papacy failed to keep the people of Christ together, but let us not descend into war and fighting, with every man having his own church. Instead let us once again work to unite in Christian love, not under the crumbling edifice of the old church, but under the new Apostolic renovation". In a further bid to make the church appear more overarching and less nationalistic, Eutychianus believes that the Church must have some territorial independence and not be tied directly to the monarchy in Avalon. He petitions Madoc IV to grant the church full independent contol of one city in the same way that the old Pope had a sovereign realm. He suggests the city of Rennes in Brittany as the location for the new Apostolic Holy City, believing that locating the Church on continental Europe will aid in his effort to unify the continent's Christian nations. (Functionally, I'm suggesting tiny 200 km sq "joint vassal" that will be controlled by whoever controls the rotational Church leadership at the time - I'd prefer to call it "The Holy See of Rennes").
* Icelandic Imperium: The Icelandic Imperium continues to deal with the after effects of the Laki Volcano eruption. The effects on the Icelandic people were great, with many dying and crops failing, but it now appears that normaility is returning to the lands. However, after seeing the effects such natural disasters have on his people, Emperor William I orders the creation of a plan to deal with any future eruptions, which mainly revolves around keeping a large food surplus in the main urban areas of the Imperium. The Icelandic Imperium continues its colonisation of the Arctic Circle islands, with Svalbard being the area of current focus. The Bering Strait islands under Imperium control begin to explore the lands to their east (OTL Alaska). It is decided that the islands off the coast of this landmass shall be colonised and brought under Imperium control in the coming years. The recent uprisings within Denmark, Sweden, and Norway are followed by the Emperor with cautious optimism. He decides that small recon teams shall be placed among the half-independent populace to report back on a number of key issues. They are also tasked with spreading Scandinavian nationalism within the populace, with the goal of forming Icelandic leaning groups. The Imperium Army and Imperium Navy are expanded and begin to be modernised. Industry continues to grow within the Imperium. Emperor William I, the only current member of the House of Orange on a throne, requests that the nation of Great Brython release the Dutch Royal Family in exile to his control, so that they can reside in the Icelandic Imperium. He heavily hints that an acceptance of his request will lead to improved relations for the far future, and by extension, a refusal will have the opposite effect. The Icelandic Imperium also suspends the Treaty of Amsterdam until such time that a decision can be reached on future realtions. An offer is sent to Normandy, offering membership into the IITG, otherwise known as the Icelandic Imperium Trade Group which allows free trade and free travel between the two states.

* The Germanic Reich and its associated Dominions threaten to cut all ties with Iceland lest it cease to recognize Denmark, Norway and Sweden as independent nations.
* The Icelandic Imperium recognises those states as independent.
* Mali: Mali is troubled by the outcome of the Welsh-Dutch War, and following the examples of Normandy and Iceland, the longstanding trade pact with the Netherlands has been terminated. Mali expands 10,000 sq km to the NE. Gabu, Mossi and Wolof contribute to the economy.
* The Great Haruwin of the Selk'nam: Yagich Rafael expands 900 km sq. Military and economy continue their buildup. Yet another island is found South of Yagich Rafael, which has been encountered by whaling ships before, but never settled due to heavy glaciers. However, a whaling ship makes port there and discovers that the coast actually has many plants, with only about one-fifth of the island being habitable. It is decided that a small village will be built there to allow kelp farms to be built around it. This new island is named Yagich Michael Angelus after Rafael's protege and successor (Yagich Rafael expands a farther 100 sq km onto OTL Heard Island - which is shown on the map south of OTL Kerguelen). Damasus continues to face royalist protests, but non-royalists are also becoming more vocal as some oppose the Welsh war against the Netherlands. This group is especially powerful in K'onip, where anti-Royalists take to wearing orange clothes as a protest in favor of the Dutch. Emissaries are also sent to Iceland, as news has reached Great Chief Damasus that the Icelandic Imperium is spreading on Northern Islands in the sam way that the Selk'nam have spread on Southern Islands. Damasus refers to the Imperium as "our Northern twins" in his message and seeks a close relationship with Iceland. (Iceland, please respond). Anoother Selk'nam emissary, Damasus's cousin and youngest son of the late Great Chief Pius - John-David Gunun'ichicin'i'OnaYagich'in, is sent with a ship to sail Northward and seek relations with other native Atlantian or Antillian powers. While disappointed to find mainly colonial powers in Atlantia, he eventually makes his way North to the Mayan Empire and seeks to forge a friendly relationship with the okther great Native sate in the New World. * The Mayan Empire: accepts the the diplomat, and opens relations with the Selk'nam, opening two embassies, one in Chichen Itza, and one in Tenochtitlan.
* The Icelandic Imperium: welcomes the Selk'nam diplomats and gives them a tour of the Imperium, and allowing the set up of an embassy.
* The Mayan Empire continues trade with European colonies and the Lakota. Delegates are sent to the new United Kingdom of Brython and the Netherlands and Southern Germany. Steam power and water wheels are incorporated in the southern part of the Empire. Chemistry is investigated and researched. Chorotega and Boruca continue build-up as trade hubs and industrial leaders. Chichen Itza and Tenochtitlan, as well as other major cities in the Empire, urbanize. Trade through North Maori and New Ceatl continues, allowing for more trade with Asian nations. Infrastructure in Zapotec continues to be updated. The colony of Halakin continues trading with the nations in Atlantia, especially Brandenburg. The Juun family continues setting up schools. More universities are established in middle class provinces. Roads in the northern part of the Empire continue to be updated, especially in areas of heavy traffic. Training drills are conducted by the military. The Royal Science Academy continues work on scientific projects. Flax and tobacco are grown. Linen is produced in Mutul and Azteca. Money is invested in regional projects to promote wealth and business. Middle class families continue rising to prominence in some of the more wealthy provinces, as well as some of the less wealthy provinces. Greater Kaliforno expands 5150 km and Haven expands 3100 km.
* Apache continues expanding 8000 km north.
* Propaganda is pumped all around the nation, telling workers to work harder and faster as their future lies with themselves. The first engine opens up service from Bhubaneswar to Kolkata, hoping to drastically reduce travelling time. Many scientists continue to work in the biological field. Death rates begin to decline at a rapid rate. Paper mills begin to become more complex and better mechanised as greater amount of paper is made. This makes the making of books easy. Shrewd businessmen make sure printing presses are right next to the mills to reduce overheads and increase profits. With the great amount of paper, logistics is improved. The SOC continues ferrying the settlers into Amazonia. As a result Uttarshina is expanded by 9200 km by immigrants coming into the colony, and companies flourish as housing is built and roads are expanded to cover all three colonies. The nation's propaganda continues to pump out patriotic messages, and helps gear up the people for a full war much closer to home. Thousands enroll and are trained heavily to be part of an efficient killing machine. The nation continues to amp up their military as its troops fight on in Europe, on the verge of stopping. A large number of air furnaces are made in ammunition factories to help build up the military. Bhutan, Kamapura and Dahod continue to expand their economies as trading with the Maharajya helps create growth. Much migration also begins to take place between Orissa and the vassals. Brunei's economy grows significantly and is useful for trading. In Java, the call for a united Mataram gets the better of the government. On the 23rd of March, they announce their desicion to rejoin Mataram. The war against the Dutch finishes. A lot of the armed forces gather in huge number in secret early on in the year. Their number keep on increasing as veterans of the recent war arrive to bolster numbers. In the background, the Navy is fully mobilised and sails heavily around Brunei and Southern India. Troops are mobilised all over the Maharajya's Unions and colonies, ready for a new war.
* Rajputana expands its army and economy heavily, and Naya Punjab grows by 9200 km. Sindustan amps up on its army and economy. The Khmers expand their economy and army, so do Mataram and Brunei. The puppet state of Naya Bihar expands by 10,000 km inland and they build up their army. Many Orissans begin to settle in Naya Bihar, which as a puppet state, has more freedom than the colonies. Naya Bihar's economy grows. Butung also builds up its infrastructure. Troops are all put on alert for a new war to avenge their nation.
* The Arabian Federation expands its colonies with the Zanj coast colony expanding 2500 sq km inland along Lake Kitara's southern coast as new towns are founded on the Lake's southern shores. The Al-Khalil colony expands 1100 sq km and the New Oman colony expands 1000 sq km inland, too.
