Walter the Farting Dog is the titular character and a series of children's books by William Kotzwinkle and Glenn Murray, and illustrated by Audrey Colman. All the books in the series star Walter and his many flatulent adventures. In 2007 the fifth book in the series, Walter the Farting Dog: Banned From the Beach, was released. Beginning with the third title, Rough Weather Ahead for Walter the Farting Dog, Elizabeth Gundy (wife of Kotzwinkle) has appeared as a co-author, but in fact had participated on the prior two uncredited. Two plush toy versions of Walter that fart when squeezed, are marketed along with the books by MerryMakers Inc. The original Walter story is now available in more than a dozen languages, including French, Spanish, Dutch, Icelandic, Norwegian, Korean,[citation needed]
