Megatron was once the leader of the Cybertron Defense League, but one day he was approached by the villainous Megatronus Prime, known as the Fallen. He persuaded the young leader to rise up against the Cybertronian government, promising that he would one day become a Prime. Megatron then turned the Defense League into an invasion force and they stormed Cybertorn's capital city. The last known Prime, Optimus, created the Autobots, a resistance army, to fight the evil, newly-christened Decepticons. Soon, the war turned into a struggle to harbor Energon and the Autobots eventually fled Cybertron.
