- Mana Shield is a benefitial status effect, as well as the basic spell causing this effect. As long as Mana Shield is in effect on an actor, damage that would usually reduce that actor's HP is diverted to damage his MP instead. If the MP are reduced to 0 by an attack that deals more damage than there were remaining MP, the excess damage is applied to the actor's HP.

Upon taking damage from any source, the damage is taken out of the user's MP instead of HP unless the user has 0 MP before damage is taken.
