Locations there included a local abbey which possessed old Irish manuscripts that concerned the Holy Grail and proved it was a genuine artifact: among them was a verse written by a survivor of the Viking sack of the monastery of Iona back in the 9th century. Another location was the inn Auberge d'Écume. Following the instructions of young scholar Marcus Brody, Henry Jones, Sr. traveled to Cantanez with his family in the summer of 1906. He visited the abbey and was excited to study the manuscripts and found the first trace of the whereabouts of the Grail. A local monk also instructed him to visit the abbey of Klasenheim.
