Cantanez was a seaside settlement in France on the coast of Brittany. Locations there included a local abbey which possessed old Irish manuscripts that concerned the Holy Grail and proved it was a genuine artifact: among them was a verse written by a survivor of the Viking sack of the monastery of Iona back in the 9th century. Another location was the inn Auberge d'Écume.
