The Baobab HoloNet was created by Ebenn Q3 Baobab during the times after the Old Republic had fallen and the Empire had risen. Baobab wished to create an alternative to the HoloNet, which was controlled by Imperial forces and only broadcast propaganda showing the Empire in a positive light. The Baobab alternative was largely abandoned and forgotten after the fall of the Empire however, as more mainstream media outlets began to resume regular broadcasting. The recipe for Wookiee-ookiees had leaked out from Kashyyyk to the rest of the galaxy via the Baobab HoloNet.
