- Romulus Augustus was the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic following the resignation of his predecessor, as well as long time political ally and friend, Cos Jonathan Dashin at the height of the Great Sovereign Crusades. Decades earlier, he was a Lieutenant Commander in the Republican Navy and served under the command of Dashin, who at that time was a high ranking Colonel in the Republican Army, during the Great Rim Lines War. He participated in the numerous battles of the war, though he was injured during the Battle of Coruscant and was unable to fight during the final battle on Dxun that saw the Republic become victorious over the Third Sith Empire and the Mandalorian Clans.

- Romulus Augustus was the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic following the resignation of his predecessor, as well as long time political ally and friend, Cos Jonathan Dashin at the height of the Great Sovereign Crusades. Decades earlier, he was a Lieutenant Commander in the Republican Navy and served under the command of Dashin, who at that time was a high ranking Colonel in the Republican Army, during the Great Rim Lines War. He participated in the numerous battles of the war, though he was injured during the Battle of Coruscant and was unable to fight during the final battle on Dxun that saw the Republic become victorious over the Third Sith Empire and the Mandalorian Clans. After healing, Romulus retired from the military and began a family with his wife, having four daughters and one son. During that time, he began considering a run for political office, and after some consideration he ran a race to become a Congressional Representative for his home planet of New Holstice, a race that he won. He served in this position for many years before being elected Senator of New Holstice. He served in that position for nearly fifteen years. Shortly before the Great Sovereign Crusades, Romulus considered running for the Office of Supreme Chancellor, though he decided against it when Dashin decided to run as he felt that his friend was the better candidate. After Senator Dashin became Chancellor Dashin, Romulus was one of his closest political allies, though Romulus was far more conservative than Dashin was. During that time, Romulus was briefly captured by Darth Invidius, the Dark Lord of the Third Sith Empire, and was manipulated into becoming a pawn through Sith mind alterations. Months later, Invidius forced Dashin out of office by threatening to kill his entire family. Much like Invidius had anticipated, Dashin endorsed Romulus for the Chancellorship, and Romulus accepted the nomination without knowledge of the fact that he was being manipulated by the Dark Lord of the Sith. Within weeks, Romulus had ordered, after a telepathic suggestion from Invidius, the entire Coruscant defense fleet to move to the Outer Rim Territories. Once they were away, the Sith fleet invaded and took control of Coruscant, which ended major combat operations in the war for nearly three years. Two days after the fall of Coruscant, the Sith assassinated Romulus after proclaiming him to be a traitor, and made it appear that he had committed suicide to avoid being arrested for treason.
