There was a brief cameo for Ben Swallow, who was sent off for serious foul play just five minutes after coming on as a sub to make his first appearance for The Gas this season, and midfielder Darren Jefferies was handed his first team debut when he came on for Oliver Norburn after 67 minutes. AFC Totton included former Rovers youth team player Jonathan Davies amongst their starting eleven.
