Big Bird Follows the Signs is a 1980 Sesame Street storybook. Big Bird is instructed by Betty Lou to drop off Prairie Dawn's cello at the school for a concert assembly. Along the way, he is supposed to follow the signs reading "SCHOOL." However, Big Bird obeys every sign he sees, from street signs and pedestrian crossing lights, to even a subway advertisement and a parade banner, including going through the Subway Station. Eventually, he makes it to the school just in time for the concert, where he is so tired from his adventure he falls fast asleep (wondering if there is a "SLEEP" sign anywhere.)
