Quik decided to drop the 'DJ' from his name because he claims "I’m not really an onstage DJ, so I figure, why keep using that...I’m DJ Quik but I’m not really a DJ. The groups debut album, Midnight Life was supposed to drop December 12 2007, but due to heavy bootlegging Interscope scrapped the whole project. The album is currently available for sale on their Myspace-Site but DJ Quik said in an audio statement on www.raptalk.net, that their Myspace-account was hacked and that this is an illegal bootleg. Recently Dubcnn reported that the album will be released in summer 2008, however, that is highly unlikely, as the master recordings were never paid for and remain the property of the San Fernando Valley area studio they were recorded at.
