Sir Edwin Henry Galsworthy (1831- 21 December 1920) The son of John Galsworthy, a shipowner of Devonport, he was justice of the peace and deputy lieutenant of Middlesex. In 1881 he was appointed chairman of the Metropolitan Asylums Board, a post he held for 20 years. He was knighted in 1887. He was a member of the Royal Commission on Vaccination that sat from 1889-97.
