The origin of Dangerous Cape Man was around the dawn of 2008. Joe Laird had just returned from a visit to his native land of Scotland for a New Year's Eve to remember and had returned with a hunger for Sunny Delight. Joe Laird and his friend Jack Morgan trekked on down to the local supermarket Tesco to satisfy this need for orange drink and donuts.

  • The origin of Dangerous Cape Man was around the dawn of 2008. Whilst travelling to Tesco they were conversing about the local music scene and Jack Morgan mentioned the upcoming gig that had the rising band The Dillinger Escape Plan. Joe, who has never really been big on rock music, misheard Jack and mistook him for a band called Dangerous Cape Man. There has been much deliberation over the true existence and origin of such a man, ranging from the heritage of Cape Town, South Africa to the arm shaped peninsula that goes by the name of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Shortly after their visit to Tesco, their friend Liam Warr (or more typically known as Eidur), rolled up into the car park in his Citreon Saxo and stopped to talk to them. They enlightened Eidur on the subject of Dangerous Cape Man and it was then that they concieved the idea of it possibly being a hit music series, much like the 'Now! Thats What I Call Music' range, only better
