Helm's Dike was an ancient trench and rampart that lay in the area surrounding Rohan's fortress of the Hornburg in the Region of Rohan. It was about a quarter mile below the Burg of the fortress and stretched about a mile or more across the Deeping Coomb. It was quite steep and was about twenty feet high in some places and resembled a cliff.
