Sie wird von den meisten Shinigami nicht ausgeübt, da diese sich auf die anderen Techniken wie Schwertkampf oder Kido verlassen. Dennoch wird sie von der 2. Division, den Spezialeinheiten, verwendet. Besonders die höherrangigen dieser Division scheinen darin besonders gut trainiert zu sein. So kämpfte Yoruichi Shihouin bis jetzt in jedem Kampf, den man von ihr sah, ausschließlich ohne Zanpakuto und somit nur unter Einsatz ihrer Hakuda-Fähigkeiten. Es ist Youruichi auch gelungen, Hakuda mit einer weiteren der vier Arten des Shinigami-Kampfes zu kombinieren, mit Kido. Die daraus entstandene Technik sammelt
