The MTM1 features a neck-thru construction with mahogany body wings and white binding on a maple and walnut Wizard II neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fretboard. Components include dual Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups, a fixed bridge and tailpiece and a locking nut. The MTM1 is a reintroduction of the RG-bodied MTM1 (2006–2011) which was the first Mick Thomson model. It is based on the Ibanez RGT series. It replaced the Glaive-style MTM100. The MTM20 is a mass-market version of the MTM1. The MTM1 was discontinued in 2016 when Thomson left Ibanez to endorse Jackson guitars.
