  • The ESP Game is a game provided by Carnegie Mellon University in conjunction with the games Phetch and Peekaboom, currently in beta form. Its main site claims to be "helping to label all images on the Web." Users must set up acounts to play the game, and the top six highest scorers are listed on the sites minimalist main page. Once a user has clicked "play", s/he is randomly assigned to another player, and the two are shown a randomly selected image. Each player enters words that would be associated with the image, such as its subjects, colors, and style ("photograph," "cartoon," etc). When they have both chosen an identical word, they score points depending on how quickly they agreed, and this word is forever associated with that image. Thusly, the images become more easily accessible in databases of images. The game is highly comparable to the Google Image Labeler ([1]).
