F.L.Y were a Latvian band originating from the capital, Riga. The name consists of the three members' initials, Mārtiņš Freimanis, Lauris Reiniks and Yana Kay. They represented Latvia as the host country of the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 , with the song "Hello from Mars". However, they didn't do well, even being the host country! They finished 24th at the end of voting. The band eventually broke up in 2005 after being formed in 2002 at the Eurovision 2002 after-party, when Marie N won. Mārtiņš Freimanis, the male singer, died in 2011 as a result of complications of Influenza A.
