Few were bought, and few remained, except one called Sudden Restoration a heavily modified ship with all but two laser cannons removed used as a mobile hospital. The ship class was created and rushed into production at the end of the Clone Wars. The Galactic Republic bought precious few ships, and these virtually disappeared when the Empire replaced the Republic. The ship class was quite fast for its size, mostly due to fairly thin armor and oversized engines. Once Astragon acquired it, the armor was replaced by slightly heavier but much stronger alloys. Its armament was virtually unchanged, remaining at ten dual turbolaser cannons, ten heavy ion cannons, and the two tractor beam projectors that are present in every iteration of the Nebulon line. This ship class was made to be fast and deadly, so it only carried twelve fighters, but it could also hold up to six shuttles or assault transports. In the Prominence Squadron, Class-Cs were used as frontline ships in the center of the assault force, while Corona-class frigates screened fighters on the sides to prevent the ship from being outflanked.
