  • 'A Fight to the Death is an American Avant-Garde Gypsy Indie Rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. The band's name is a reference to the duels of the old American West, drawing inspiration from the writings of Cormac McCarthy. Singer/Guitarist CJ Bargamian started recording music as Chris Bargamian and A Fight to the Death in 2005, and recorded the self-released LP "American Literature" under that name. In March of 2006, drummer Mark Carbone and bassist Colin Jaccino joined CJ onstage at a Pogues tribute concert at Lenny's Bar in Atlanta. Shortly thereafter, Colin relocated to Boston and CJ moved to San Francisco. While in San Francisco, CJ wrote and recorded an EP called "End of Continent Sadness" under the A Fight to the Death moniker. In February 2007, both CJ and Colin returned to Atlanta and resumed composing with drummer Mark Carbone. Pianist/Accordionist Nathan Green was soon recruited and the band performed it's first full-band show at The EARL in Atlanta in August 2007. After this show, pedal steel player George Wallace joined the band. The band is currently working on it's forthcoming self-titled LP, set for a July 2008 release.
