abstract	The party was founded by exiled members of the Dundorfian NEP. They fled to Marlon Thaller, a friend of the NEP leader Jürgen Dallor, who managed to seize power in Darnussia. In Darnussia Dallor and his followers founded a party which should strengthen the Dundorfians living in Darnussia and make it part of a greater Dundorfian state. In their first election in 4068 the DDP achieved a real landslide victory. Together with the Eiserner Ring they formed the first cabinet that had to pledge allegiance to the king. Therefore democracy was not really existing in Darnussia in that period of time. After this legislative period the Eiserner Ring merged with the DDP.
