abstract
| - There are certain terms which may have connotations which are thrown around often, such as Magic, and may have alternative words to use for them, such as Magick. Articles should conform to a standard with such words to avoid confusion.
* Magic - As opposed to words like Magick, because we're not going to talk about street magicians here.
* Therian - Someone who refers to themself as "Therian", or is recognized as part of the community that calls itself the "Therian" community.
* Otherkin - Someone who refers to themself as "Otherkin", or is recognized by that community.
* Why? Because to debate the difference otherwise requires too much thought and has large gray areas, this is pretty static. If someone fits both, they are both.
* Animal Person - DON'T USE THIS WORD. It's gaining popularity in some places, but Therian is more popular.
* Were - DON'T USE THIS WORD. This sounds cool, but it's silly and misleading.
* Lycanthrope - DON'T USE THIS WORD. It can mean too many things. (and was used in Underworld)
* Fictional Weres - This is the ONLY term that should be used to refer to Werewolves from fiction.
* Metaphysics - The study of the non-physical world in general.
* Occult - This is more applied than Metaphysics, and covers actual delving into things like Demonology and Magic.
