"Invented" by a gnome fighter who, after getting his weapon sundered, used a giant's arrow to defend himself and slay the giant he was fighting (or so the story goes), this weapon looks like a reversed shortsword; it has a one-foot-handle with a knifeblade attached to the end of it. A knifestick is a double weapon. You can fight with it as if fighting with two weapons, but if you do, you incur all the normal attack penalties associated with fighting with two weapons, just as if you were using a one-handed weapon and a light weapon.
