The Mark 119p Proximity Detonated Defensive Warhead, or "Proxie" is a capital-ship-scale munition employed primarily by warships of the Caspian Navy and its Commonwealth affiliates. Designed in a joint effort between CDMC and Lokkai Starworks and manufactured by Casparian Armaments Manufacturing (in sufficient quantities until CAM's eventual buyout), the device is a reasonably-compact, blunt-headed cylinder with an acceleration charge at the back and a ring of remedial braking thrusters around its middle section. The on-board telemetry package receives either a simple distance-from-origin or vector instruction set from the deploying warship and then is launched (or shot) from either a VOWL or HOWL (or similar launch system). The charge propels the warhead out, and then, depending on the in

  • The Mark 119p Proximity Detonated Defensive Warhead, or "Proxie" is a capital-ship-scale munition employed primarily by warships of the Caspian Navy and its Commonwealth affiliates. The charge propels the warhead out, and then, depending on the instruction set type, will either arrive at its intended coordinates and then decelerate or will progress along the instructed vector until encountering a sensor anomaly of significant mass to warrant detonation. A further instruction of "detonate upon arrival" can be fed into the guidance package as well. Upon detonation, these warheads violently release a cloud of shrapnel and charged particles. This material, exploding at tremendous velocities, is enough to destroy or disrupt several fighters, bombers, or warheads if they so threaten the host warship. Some in New Republic circles erroneously refer to these as "Point Defense - Detonated Weapons". Proxies have been used to great effect during the Union's engagements with Imperial forces in the Caspian Annexation Campaign as well as numerous entanglements with pirates, raiders, and insurgents from Hutt Space and other egregious confederacies.
