Aivret Medrego was a female Vorsyt, the daughter and eldest child of war hero Tarse Medrego. Born on Uyiq-Mest in 130 ABY, Aivret always pictured her often-absent father as a brave hero, fighting to defend the Golden Empire in the Royal Navy. When he was appointed a Legate during the Vagaari War and Aivret's schoolmates began to see him the same way, Aivret was intensely proud, and began to consider a career in the military herself. She was allowed to be present for the ceremony at which her father received the Sovereign's Order, which only furthered her desires.

When she completed secondary schooling, Aivret was accepted at the Royal Naval Academy on Iscandar and received her commission in 153 ABY. Her father personally pinned her rank insignia on for her.
