The Pasarian Memorial Atmospheric Reclamation Complex Project, originally the Coruscant Atmospheric Reclamation Complex Project, was a set of planetwide atmospheric scrubbing systems developed by the Galactic Republic on Coruscant to ensure that the planet's atmosphere did not become laden with the large amount of toxic gases and chemicals produced by its planet-wide city. It had become necessary because there was no longer any arable land left on the entire planet. Development had eliminated all of Coruscant's plant life, which had once helped to maintain the air quality. A large number of the atmospheric scrubbing stations employed genetically engineered organisms that could consume toxic gases and chemicals.
