Johnathan Fritzgerald III was born in Kansas City, MO on January 6, 1974. He is the third and youngest child of Matilda Cook-Fitzgerald, Apprentice of Order of Hermes, and Johnathan Fitzgerald II, Disciple of Order of Hermes. He joined the order as a young man and obtained the rank of Initiate by the age of 18. He chose to adventure, at his earliest opporunity, and used the idea of leaving for college as his means to get far away from the structure of family and home. He studied the magical arts in the Newark Chantry while attending the University of Deleware.

abstract
  • Johnathan Fritzgerald III was born in Kansas City, MO on January 6, 1974. In 2001, he received a doctorate Physics degree. His thesis proposed new theoretical statistical modles on kinetics of first-order phase transitions and the development of order from disorder as well as pattern formation in nonlinear nonequilibrium systems. Ultimately, Dr. Fritzgerald's theory was little recieved by the scientific community at large, but it was not invalid, merely marginally useful in practice. During his years as a student, Dr Fritzgerald met and fell in love with an ambitious doctorate student at the university, Jenniffer Collins. They married in the fall of 2002. The pair stayed with the university after graduation to become assistant professors, and then tenured. They purchased a small started home in the suburbs together just before the newlyweds came to tradegy in 2004 - an inattentive driver on his cell phone clipped their vehicle while changing lanes on I-95, spinning and rolling their vehicle. Jeniffer did not recover from her injuries. Johnathan's failure at will-working Forces to lessen the crash has been his own private demon since - leading to "self-medication" and a drive to further his knowledge and practice of magic. In 2007, Dr. Fritzgerald was endowed chair as Professor of Physics. His research has centered on the application of noise-induced, or stochastic, resonance as the mechanism for external forces acting upon a nonlinear systems. His innovative model found constructive roles of noise that apply to physical, chemical, and kinetic systems. While initially the model focused on simple, low-dimension, dynamical systems, more recent work has considered the constructive role of noise in extended systems composed of many coupled non-identical units. In May 2008, the Physics Library located at 221 Sharp Laboratory at the University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware, was renamed Jennifer Collins-Fitzgerald Library in honor of his wife. The library has been sponsored by a trust created in her name. The Library provides a specialized collection of several thousand books and reference materials on physics, chemistry and related sciences. Johnathan was appointed chantry head of the Newark Chantry after the head master and archmage unexpectedly vacated his post in January 2009. This is his first foray into Council politics.
